All through out the book of Jeremiah we see that God’s people would not listen and obey the Lord when they had everything to gain.From the beginning God’s heart was to have a relationship with His people. He set apart to Himself a unique people who would serve Him and obey Him with a whole heart. He in turn would bless them beyond anything they could ever imagine. God made a provision through His word and they had the responsibility to obey.

Jeremiah–the weeping prophet February 2, 2009
Jeremiah wept over the sad spiritual condition of the people (Jer 4:19, 9:18). It is unusual today to find tears in the pulpit or from God’s people. We shout in anger and point our fingers acting like self appointed piety police, but do we mourn the sin of the people? I am not just talking about our culture, I am talking about the church. The prophets carried a message from God to His people, people who should have known better, people who had God’s words and commandments yet rejected it. (more…)
